About Deborah

Meet
Deborah

Hi! My name is Deborah K. Banks. Many of you may know me from years ago as the wild lady on the organ who traveled with Kenneth E. Hagin and the Rhema Singers and Band. Those were some great times of experiencing the wonderful presence of God!

Since my days on the road and playing with RS&B, I've continued leading worship in various ministry settings. I currently travel to different churches across the nation, teaching Spirit-led worship, training worship leaders, and leading believers into the presence of God through anointed music.

Ministry and music have been an integral part of my life since childhood. I was born in Champaign, Illinois, to a family of talented musicians, preachers, and educators. I pursued my studies in music and received my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with an instrumental emphasis from the University of Illinois in 1974.

As a self-taught organist, I taught music education in various private and public sectors for nine years. I was the Music Director for the University of Illinois Black Chorus and assisted with the album recording for Bethel A.M.E. Church in Champaign, Illinois. I have also performed with many renowned Gospel artists, such as the O’Neil Twins, Shirley Caesar, James Cleveland, and Mattie Moss Clark.

In 1981, I received and accepted the call to ministry. Four years later, I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend Rhema Bible Training College, founded by Kenneth E. Hagin. After graduating in 1987, I was employed by Kenneth Hagin Ministries as an Assistant to the Ministry of Music.

During my tenure for the Hagins, I founded and directed the Victory Singers, a Rhema student ensemble, and FUSION, the Rhema Bible Church youth choir. I also became an integral part of the Kenneth E. Hagin Crusade Team, known as the Rhema Singers and Band.

After working for Rhema, I moved to Southfield, Michigan, and faithfully served as Minister of Music for six years at Word of Faith International Christian Center, pastored by Bishop Keith A. Butler. Later, I served as Minister of Music for four years at Word of Faith Christian Centre Church in Toronto, Canada. The Lord then moved on my heart to begin traveling and ministering in word and song.

My ministry objectives include preaching God's Word and providing sound Biblical teaching on the importance of the ministry of music. I focus on teaching the divine origin and purpose of music, and I believe my boldness and no-nonsense style of preaching will be a blessing to many in the Body of Christ.
